We were so fortunate that Henry and Anne-Marie chose us to care for their beautiful property and lovely pets.  From the moment we arrived we felt very much at home thanks to their kindness and hospitality.  Zoe the dog welcomed us as though we were long lost friends and even shy Titti the cat became an evening hot water bottle on the sofa.  The surrounding country is incredibly beautiful and there are no shortages of mountain passes and beautiful villages to explore. We were very comfortable and enjoyed having our own independent part of the house. We would love to return if the chance arose.

We had a great time getting to know Charlotte, and really appreciate the month we got to spend with her in Pat's very cozy home.

She is a very intuitive dog, and her care is very straightforward. It was easy for us to relax here and we appreciated the opportunity to get to know Pat and Charlotte ahead of time. Communication was always prompt and efficient - nothing was too complicated. Lynn Valley is a lovely walkable neighbourhood. We had everything we needed (and more).

Wow - what an experience! It was so nice to be RIGHT on the water, with amazing views, affectionate cats, and a friendly small town community.

Minou and Minette are easy to love. We appreciated being left a thorough home + care guide, which made it easy for us all to settle in and get comfortable. Monique and Alain are excellent communicators. We appreciated the opportunity to visit and go through everything beforehand. 

This stay was an absolute delight from beginning to end. It was hard to leave, and we would happily return. Thank you!

Leo and JR are 2 adorable cats, very easy to take care of . Leo loves to cuddle up with you for hours on the couch. It took a couple of days for JR to come for a cuddle and he finally did and felt at ease.
The house is very clean and the bed is super comfortable . It situated in a neat area of East Van, so it was fun to explore the coffee shops around and also some vintage stores close by, with a  fairly walking distance to Commercial drive ( if you like to walk).
Dan and Lori were available to answer any of my questions. 
I highly recommend this housesit.

Kerry and Richard did a great job keeping Yusuf, the cat, happy and healthy.  He was recovering from a urinary tract infection and needed extra TLC.  They kept the garden immaculate and communicated when there were problems.  I was very comfortable knowing they were taking care of things at home and would definitely have them again.

Carole is a well travelled, kind, caring and reliable house sitter with many years of experience with animals, and we can highly recommend her services.

Carole was a prompt communicator from the moment she reached out to apply for our housesit in Basel, Switzerland. She arrived a day earlier so that we could meet her and introduce her to our dog, Alaska, and our 2 cats, Ash and Raven, as well as showing her different spots to walk Alaska and to demonstrate the feeding routines and the apartment appliances.

While we were away for 3 months, Carole and I communicated frequently via WhatsApp. I checked in with her occasionally, and she shared photos of our pets and reached out early if she had any issues (e.g. pet food running out sooner than expected). She also sent photos of our postal mail to make sure nothing required action. Carole befriended our upstairs neighbor despite the language barriers, which was important for house relations.

Alaska was absolutely spoiled by Carole while were away, swimming in the river and going on walks in town and coming home absolutely exhausted. Our cats got lots of attention too whenever they deigned to come indoors and get cuddles.

Our apartment and plants were also well taken care of during our absence and Carole left everything in working order and clean.

Carole stayed a week after our daughter returned from overseas and supported her by continuing to care for our animals while she organized paperwork for her next trip, which was greatly appreciated.

We would definitely love to have Carole back if she ever wants to visit Basel again!

longest trip away from my dog ever

Lori did a great job with my dog Xerxes. We booked with each other months in advance so I was so at peace that Lori communicated with me regularly to make sure we were still on track right up to the actual date of departure. The most unnerving part of the process for me is trusting that someone will show up, so this was big for me to feel less stress as I prepared for a huge trip.

Lori kept in communication enough to set my mind at ease. Xerxes had recently been sick and Lori knew the fine line to walk between letting me relax on vacation and provide assurance that Xerxes was doing fine. 

Probably the best part was feeling like I was leaving my house in capable hands as well. Lori made me feel like I could walk out of the house without explaining every detail of the house, assuring me that she was quite capable of figuring things out. 

Highly recommend.

unexpected care of sick dog, handled great

Cindy and Steve took care of my dog Xerxes during a particularly stressful time. There was no cancelling my out of town trip and Xerxes got very sick right before we left. Cindy and Steve were great communicators and went above and beyond picking up his medicine from the vet and communicating with me including pictures to assess what should be done. I am extremely thankful for their ongoing updates which set my mind at ease. Additionally communication before the house sit was great and scheduling met expectations and was clearly understood.

Great Sit in the Smoky Mountains!

I had such a wonderful time in Cosby, watching over the pets, the mountains, and the stars in the night sky. Randi and David were wonderful hosts, and the home itself is truly lovely. Also, the few neighbors there are were all a joy and extremely helpful. I'd definitely do it again!

This was the first time i have used a housesitter/petcare platform and it was an amazing experience. Karen arrived a couple days (as I had mistaken my day of departure) in advanced and got to bond with Molly (GSD) and learn about my home and neighborhood while I was still here. She drove me to the shuttle to airport at 3:45am and then picked me up when I returned.  I was gone for 3.5 weeks and she sent me pics and narratives about how things were going with Molly.  When I got home I noticed she had taken initiative to get my yard ready for winter, tended the house and garden, and Molly had adopted her as one of her major loves. In addition, I got to know Karen during our days together and can happily say, I have a new friend!

Danielle worked out wonderfully and we were very happy to meet her. She took great care of our house and properpty (we have no pets) and got us to and from the airport. She gladly took care of anything that came up, including  attending to certain small tasks we share with the neighbors. (They were gone at the same time as we were). She is a delightful person and I would be happy to have her stay again. HIghly recommend.

Two sweet, somewhat shy cats were my companions for an enjoyable excursion in downtown Portland. Collene is a thoughtfully organized host. Nice condo, I felt safe and the building was accessible to many art venues, stores and restaurants. Easy to navigate the city and explore natural escapes as public transit and walking is very doable from the house sit.

Wonderful dogs in a great home

This was a wonderful housesit! The dogs, Caddis and Bear, were a real pleasure to take care of, they are well behaved and very personable. The home is comfortable and in an excellent location, with lots of good walking trails nearby, and close to a few shops and restaurants. It was great meeting the homeowners, Lori and Jeffrey, they were thorough in their instructions and kept in communication throughout the sit. I highly recommend this sit to anyone who may consider it in the future. 

House sit in Paradise

This was our first-time house sitting for Housecarers.com.  We stayed at Ingrid’s home for a month.  It was truly a paradise.  The house is gorgeous, the landscaping with a plethora of flowering trees took our breath away, the serene creek (more like a river in size) that was hypnotizing, and monkeys playing in the garden.  What more could you ask for?  

There is a large pool that we took care of per Ingrid’s wishes that was a great way to cool down every day.  Also great for swimming and exercise.  There was a local guy who came by once a week to tidy up the garden, take out the garbage, scrub the sides of the pool and various other tasks.

Ingrid had us come several days early to learn the routine of maintaining her home in Kenya.  Also she showed us around the town pointing out the market, grocery store, good restaurants, etc.  She is a beautiful soul.

This stay was easily our favorite pet/housesitting gig ever.  No hesitations to give the sit a 10/10!

Monica did a wonderful job while we were away

Monica came the day before we left, so we had a chance to get to know her. Her credentials are superb, and Monica has considerable experience house sitting, particularly with pets. Our two dogs loved Monica, and my wife and I felt very comfortable leaving them in Monica's care. When we came back the house was very well maintained, and the pets were very happy. We were very happy with Monica, and would recommend her to others, who need a house sitter.

Kerry and Lionel have been in my home in Kenia, to look after it while I was in Germany.

They are very nice people, communicative, responsible and easy going. Same wavelength from the beginning. I was feeling confident when I left and knew that things would go well. And they did. They kept me updated and informed and I could enjoy my stay.

I found my house and pool very clean. Even the garden and the neighbours cat ( is coming for visits daily ) was well looked after. I highly recommend them for a housesit, hoping they will come again.

Celia stayed at our house and took care of our two new 4 month old kittens for the month of September.  While we were away, she sent us bi-weekly pix and updates of the house and garden and the kittens, Zac and Zoi.  We found her to be very friendly, very conscientious, and very flexible (she stayed on for an extra week, so we could extend our vacation).  The kittens enjoyed her; she bought them treats and toys, and even tried to teach them some French!  By now, I'm sure they've forgotten any French she taught them, if they learned anything at all!!  They did, however, learn not to get on to the kitchen counters!!

The house was clean and tidy when we returned and Celia had kept my extensive collection of outdoor potted plants, and the garden alive and thriving.  She even bought toys for the kittens and took them outside in their cat carriers so they could watch the birds!  A treat they have not expereinced since we got home!

We did not worry about the house or kittens while we were away.  I can recommend Celia very highly and would not hesitate to ask her take care of our house and cats again.

The Best House And Pet Sitting Gig In Over Six Years!!!

In over six years of house and pet sitting, house and dog sitting for Yolanda and LaRon was the best house sitting gig ever!!!

It starts with Yolanda and LaRon themselves, who were very welcoming, and let me have the master bedroom throughout the sit, including the day and night before they left and the the day and night after they came back. The master bedroom is very spacious. I had never seen a bedroom like that. It spans most of the second floor, had huge windows and is very lit. The bed was nice and firm, just like I need it to get good night sleep.

Bandit was cute and funny. It took her a week to warm up to me. But even during that first week, she was funny and entertaining. After the first week, she became playful. She took me to visit the whole neighborhood, including the great Oxnard State Beach Park.

The house is very modern and in a great location. It was a couple of blocks from the beach. The beach was nice, quiet, and not touristy. The house was also very easy walking distance from Oxnard State Beach Park. Google it to see how great it looks!!

I would definitly house and dog sit for Yolanda and LaRon again. And very highly recommend this sit to anyone.

Wonderful Home with Lovely Owners

We had the pleasure of watching Barbara and Dana's home in Chapel Hill for 6 weeks over August and September. They are kind and welcoming people that made sure we were well-prepared to look after their home. Communication with them was always smooth, and their responses were swift. It was delightful to chat about life and travels with them over wine and brunch upon their return.

The house sits in a quiet wooded neighborhood not far from the UNC campus, perfect for our morning and evening strolls. The yard is a highlight, with towering pines providing shade and beautifully maintained gardens. Their automated irrigation system handles most of the watering, but a few select plants needed our attention every couple of days. Their clear instructions made this task easy!

We were very comfortable staying in their home and loved the artwork. Nearly every room offered views of the garden, making our stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, well-equipped and spacious. The house also boasts a large office area with multiple monitors and speedy internet, accommodating our work needs perfectly. Our favorite spot to relax after work was the deck, particularly the screened-in porch area with a ceiling fan to keep things cool. It was the perfect spot to unwind, drink in hand, and take in the beauty of the garden.

We had a wonderful time in Chapel Hill, and would wholeheartedly recommend housitting for Barabra and Dana!

Abdenour knew how to take care of a timid terrier.  My dog had been mistreated the first 4 years of her life before I adopted her, and still has difficulty warming up to people or trusting them, or dogs for that matter.  She needed special care in walking, for she gets aggressive around other animals.  Abdenour was patient and understanding, my dog was noticeable "down" when he left, and had to get used to her family again after 1 month, being under his care. 

Our Water heater broke and had to be repaired while he was dog/housesitting, he managed to oversee the repair.  We were in constant communication, he kept us well informed as to the goings on.  Bandit was sick too, and he nurtured her, adjusting her meals and special food supplement.

Abdenour had his own car and was flexible in his and our schedule, which provided us a cushion just in case. we were very comfortable and confident with our dog and house under his care, and hope he'll be available in the future for us.  Please feel free to contact me.  We highly recommend him

Nice cozy house and Very Cute Cats!!

It was a real pleasure house and cat sitting for Remy and Adam. Their house was nice, cozy, and in a very good Bay Area location. Their cats were furry and very cute. Remy and Adam were very nice in accomodating my schedule to fit with my other sits: me being able to arrive after they had already left, and to leave the day before they came back. They helped me with technical issues to be able to chromcast from my laptop to their TV. The cats were let me sleep all night without disturbance, and only jumped into bed at dawn, after I was already half awake. It was great starting my early days with one cat to pet in bed.

I highly recommend this house sit for anyone who wants to visit the Bay Area, or could use the Bay Area as a stopover location between their current location and another house sitting gig.

Jim made everything seamless with thorough sit instructions and full information about the apartment and neighborhood.  The cats were a pleasure to care for.  Mabel is very sweet and Woody is full of it.  The were no issues whatsoever.  I enjoyed my time in Philadelphia.
