Hi, I'm Christie, from Wellington New Zealand, and Dave and I could be your ideal housesitters!
We've been home and pet owners for more than 30 years, but in 2015 we left our jobs, sold our home and possessions, and hit the road to visit all those places in the world we'd always wanted to see. We loved our jobs and our lives in Wellington but felt that this was something we should do before we just got too darn old.
In the last seven years we've visited South East Asia and Central and South America, Indonesia, Europe and the UK, and housesat along the way. We weathered the covid pandemic for 20 months in Hoi An, Vietnam, fostering cats and helping at a cat shelter, but returned to New Zealand in October 2021, spending two years sitting almost non-stop and getting reaquinted with home. At the start of this year we left to carry on our travels and are currently sitting a lovable soi dog in Hua Hin, Thailand.
As we've been home and pet owners in New Zealand through our working lives, we get how important it is for you to know your home and pets are in responsible, experienced and caring hands. We take our responsibilities seriously, offering what we'd expect from housesitters we might engage ourselves.

Oh my goodness - where do we start?! We love Dave and Christie, they were excellent in every way: Mia was so well looked after, and had such a nice time with them (they even made her a toy and got her some spanking new dinner bowls) she was clearly disappointed at our return! The house was left completely immaculate and Christie had baked us a gorgeous chocolate cake (divine!). Dave and Christie are the people that make being a member of this site so fab! They are 100% welcome back any time! Thank you guys!
Christie and Dave were fabulous. They took excellent care of our cats, kept us updated, and left our place immaculate. We would love to have them come and sit again and can't recommend them highly enough!
In a word, Christie and Dave were extraordinary. They took care of our twin 'boys' (2-year old Ragdoll-Persians) while we were away for a five-week trip to South America. While we were away they messaged us pictures of the boys at least once a week, bought treats for them, and signed for/took care of important documents that I needed sent to the house. When we returned home, the boys looked happier or healthier than ever (and the house never cleaner!). They are true professionals, possessing a rare and wonderful combination of experience, kindness, integrity, humility, and, of course, a true love for cats! In short, Christie and Dave have our deepest gratitude and have earned our strongest recommendation.
