Hello!
We are retirees who love to travel and experience other cultures. We speak English, French, and some Spanish. Once we reach a travel destination, we like to stay put, as we find that this is the best way to truly get to know a new area and its people. And we realize that you only have peace of mind if your pets and home are well taken care of - we provide that peace of mind!
We love nature and being active outdoors. We are passionate gardeners (indoors and out), and have created an oasis of our own at home, despite our long Canadian winters. Your garden, including any vegetables or fruits, will be in our capable hands.
We are very physically fit and are non-smokers. Mark is an expert "fix-it" kind of a guy, and it's a point of pride for him to do as many approved odd jobs as possible whenever we house sit.
We have a beloved cat ourselves (who stays well cared for at home when we travel), and are animal lovers. We are also able to look after fish, as we maintained a large salt-water aquarium for 25 years.
We have done many house exchanges, mostly in Europe, and they have all been very positive experiences. Since 2020 we have done 6 housesits in Australia and Canada. (See our reviews under the Housecarers references section). Our Queensland hosts have had us back to their home 3 times, and each sit was long term - between one and three months each. (We grew to love both their cat, and their large tropical garden).
