Pauline and I are retired teachers from Ontario, Canada who are eager to take care of your home and love your pets. We are responsible and conscientious animal lovers, non-smokers and avid travellers!
With an extensive background in the Girl Guide organization in Canada, and Ireland, we are always respectful of others, of their belongings and, of course, their lovely pets.
We love to travel and wish to add to our rich treasury of memories from pet-sitting through Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, Central America and Asia. At home in Canada, we love relaxing and adventuring in the great outdoors.
I, Trish, am an avid bird watcher, gardener and photographer. Pauline is a keen writer.
Over the years our families have included loving pussycat sisters, a long-eared basset hound, a joyful golden retriever, several spaniels, some fish, and a rather quiet turtle.
We've become highly experienced having been house/pet sitting now for the past eight years.
We've had a wide range of experiences with lovely pets ranging from miniature poodles with incredible charm to Bernese Mountain dogs with deep, loving eyes that would melt anyone's heart! In all, we've have looked after and loved more than 35 dogs, 20 cats, 16 alpaca, 4 pigs, 2 Shetland ponies, 5 guinea pigs, 6 horses, 2 hilarious goats, Doc and Bashful and 2 cows named Ribeye and T-Bone! We've cared for a ton of sheep, turkeys, chooks, some entertaining geese, finches, tropical fish, a rabbit, and a "dook" in the Yorkshire Dales! Lately, we supervised "walks" with four large pet turtles and we even hatched a baby quail in an incubator in New Zealand!
Pauline and I participated in a one year Teacher Exchange to Australia in We cared lovingly for that teacher's home in Sydney, and have been back to visit several times since. We happily repaid the Aussie hospitality by welcoming my Principal and his family in our home.
We enjoyed a month-long House Exchange to beautiful Vienna in 2007 and have since become good friends with the family.
I am fluent in French, and have a rudimentary knowledge of German. Pauline has been studying Spanish for the past couple of years. We love nothing more than to engage in conversation with neighbours and new friends.
Pauline was born in Ireland and holds a valid Irish passport as well as a Canadian passport. I am a full-blooded Canuck! If we were to spend more than 90 days in Europe, I would break our time up with a visit to Pauline's cousin who lives in Zurich, Switzerland.
