We are a healthy, active, non-smoking retired couple. I was an administrator in a very active clinic and my husband of 45 years was a locomotive engineer.
Our family of five included a small Border Collie, Spot, who passed away at 17 years of age. We have a sweet long haired Persian grand-kitty named Randy and a Husky/Whippet grand-dog Lulu who we love to spend time with.
As house-sitters, Ed and I provide security and maintenance for homes and property, allowing peace of mind for the homeowners. Our house-sits have included a long term sit in a small village in Fiji as well as three long-term sits on the island of Molokai, Hawaii. Our longest house-sit was 3 months on Vancouver Island and involved caring for gardens. Several of our house-sits have been repeats.
Our most recent sit was in North Vancouver, BC taking care of a gentle German short haired pointer, Skye.
Previously we cared for two lovely rescue cats from New Orleans, Sachmo and Daisy and Molly and Misha, two adorable older dogs from Long Beach, California.
We did a beautiful fall pet-sit in Brooklyn, NY looking after a little pooch named Simmy.
We are caring, compassionate and very responsible. We have been homeowners for over fourty years along with operating our seasonal cottage. We very much respect and understand the responsibilities of caring for your family pets, a home and property .My husband is very handy and mechanical, and I am known by family and friends as a "well organized neat-nik".
Our hobbies include hiking, cooking, baking sour dough (my passion), reading, gardening at our cottage and most importantly spending time with our 4 little grandchildren.
We enjoy pet/house-sitting as it enables us to provide a loving and responsible environment for family pets and a secure home for homeowners; while still having the opportunity to experience different communities, countries and cultures.
