We are looking for singles or couples (we can not accommodate families) to stay in our quiet and safe neighborhood home, in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, in Albuquerque, NM, to play with and care for our 2 4-year old cats, Jackie and Robin (litter mates, and with us since 4 weeks old).
The cats love going outside, but due to having coyotes and other predators in the area, we use a cat door on a timer, keeping them inside after 9pm until 5 am. We want a reliable housesitter to ensure that both cats are in each evening, and available to let cats inside at night should there be an issue with the cat door. Litter box maintenance is non-existent as they go outdoors. Yard is on a sprinkler system. Large vegetable garden and some young fruit trees, but mainly just light weeding and picking produce for yourself as it ripens. Home is clean, neat and easy to maintain. No other household responsibilities, other than staying in the home each evening and making sure the cats are in before bedtime, feeding wet food in morning and evening (dry food available all the time), and giving the cats love and attention. 3 bedroom home, 2 car garage, 6 person hot tub, outdoor ambiance lighting, amazing view of the city from backyard, kitchen and living room, view of the Sandia Mountains out front living room, 3 minute drive to hiking trails in the foothills, 3 minute walk from walking/biking path along Tramway Blvd, quiet and safe neighborhood, big backyard with patio for BBQ and firepit, skydeck on roof of house for 360 degree views, 1 minute from Walgreens/CVS, 5 minutes from 5 different grocery stores, 10 minutes to nearest hospital, central location in New Mexico to explore the state! Albuquerque has two Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, as well as an extensive number of international cuisine restaurants. New Mexico gets 310 days of sunshine a year. Lots of interesting outdoor hiking, mountain biking, rockclimbing, and kayaking opportunities. New Mexico is also very diverse and has a lot of unique cultural and scenic attractions, restaurants and diverse neighborhoods. No smoking. Must love cats and be willing to pet, play with and love our cats. Sitters must provide their own car as Albuquerque is not the most bikeable city and public transport is limited.
