We're urgently looking for sitters from the end of November to the end of February who adore nature, animals and the outdoor life.
You'll stay in a cosy, self-contained cottage on our smallholding in the staggeringly beautiful Haut-Languedoc natural park in southern France. You'll be responsible for our property, which includes your cottage and our house and for feeding our animals: three donkeys, one cat, one loveable and friendly dog. You would be in charge of walking the dog every day and possibly giving him medicine for his arthritis. Otherwise the donkeys just need a bale of hay a day and the cat needs a meal and a bit of love. Knowledge of French is useful but not essential.
This is a perfect place to go hiking, cycling, hill-walking and river swimming. In the winter there's a small cross country ski station forty minutes drive up the hill.
The cottage has three bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen and a nice living room with a wood-burning stove which chucks out a lot of heat and keeps the whole place very cosy. It's the perfect place to relax and get away from it all, to get closer to nature. A brilliant place to write (I've already written one novel here!). There is a very fast broadband connection so this is also a great place for those who can work from home (we've had web-designers stay in the past).
Bear in mind that it's remote - The nearest village with a shop and school is 2km away, the nearest supermarket a 13km bicycle or car ride. It's a special, wild and beautiful place - for a special, wild and interesting couple or family!
Please send us a /facetime/whatapp contact with your application so we can set up a video conversation.
