A 10 min. drive will take you to the heart of Taos, a mountain village filled with museums, galleries, shops and restaurants. In addition, the Taos Pueblo, a national Historical site, is 4 miles from Taos's center. Our world class ski resort, a 30 min. drive from town, is available for summer activities: hiking, biking trails, & a gondola for views of Taos mountains and valley.
Northern New Mexico is a world unto itself filled with generational farms dating to the 1600s, an old world atmosphere, farmers markets, and remote villages. Taos has a wide mixture of people from "old hippies" to "techies" driving Porsches to artists and writers. Lots of hiking trails surround our little town, or take a 1.15 drive south to Santa Fe. Or, take a day drive and follow the Enchanted Circle visiting the little towns and passing over mountains and down valleys that surround us.
My house retains the old world atmosphere with 18"adobe(mud bricks) walls built on farm land. I do not have a TV but excellent WIFI to watch Netflix etc. or do remote work from a quiet space, etc. To the north is a view of Taos mountains and pasture land with a few cows and horses peeking over the fence! Bird and hummingbird feeders are scattered around the casita. Enjoy the southern views, while sitting on the patio and BBQ your favorite meal. The casita is cozy and filled w/art from my world travels.
Amy, my English Bulldog is a sweetheart with her scrunched up nose and loves to cuddle or nap on her bed. The 2 cats are happy to be outside during the day and set their own life's schedule! The patio is perfect for enjoying that first cup of coffee or tea in the morning! Come visit this little mountain community!
