My stay at Tina and Peter's was perfect. Their home is a charming old farmhouse tastefully decorated with antiques and comfy furniture. The beds afforded us restful sleep. We ate our meals on the front porch and relaxed in the evenings playing cards in the kitchen or watching movies on their various streaming services. Phone reception and internet connection were no problem.
The dogs, Tiki and Dolly, had charming personalities. Tiki, the lab, is so laid back and sweet. It was heartwarming to see how she 'took care' of Dolly. Dolly is younger and has a delightfully playful disposition. We enjoyed walking them down the road. They didn't need to be on leashes (although I brought them) because they listened well. Dolly absolutely loves chasing the ball!
The house is 25 minutes from Roanoke, so we ate and shopped in town several times, and even enjoyed at play at the Mill Theatre. We appreciated being able to drive short distances to the many hikes we completed. The dogs hiked well when we brought them along. I had an issue with my car and the neighbors happily spent the time to help me out.
Peter and Tina were easy to communicate and always replied promptly. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Tina in person but from our communications I can tell she is a super person. And Peter even baked me a loaf of bread! I highly recommend this pet/house sit!
