My experience house sitting is with my own home(s) which began back in 1975 with the first home I invested in (and restored), in the SF Bay area. And for a time, I even worked for a well established kitchen/bath remodeling firm, so I would know who to call for any issues that might arise. My passion though, remains with being an educator/guide. After 30 years, I "retired" and in 2009, I moved to Mexico but continiued to help out in the school here. Here, I also built a home (from the ground up - OH MY!! - have you ever read "On Mexican Time" (-; )! Now I have two young grandchildren and I am wanting to be closer to/more involved with them for a month or two at a time. Their home is too small for Gramma, so House/Pet Sitting would be an afforable way for me to do this and they would not feel like they need to take care of me. I do have a dog I would be bringing with me. He is a VERY agreeable, easy going, quiet, gentle boy (about 14, a mix of Italian water dog and ? - non shedding). Lies around most of the day.
