Nice to Meet You

Hi, we're Chris and Linda, and we're ready to take good care of your home, pets, and plants. We are non-smokers, and now that we're fully retired from our office jobs, are ready to expand our lifelong love of "slow" travel.

On our journeys, we prefer to stay in one location for the entire duration in order to get to know the surrounding area and experience and appreciate it like a local.

From large metropolitan cities to tiny hamlets, we find immense enjoyment in the exploration of the local culture and countryside.

As time has passed, we've found that we're most content with the simple pleasures life has to offer: long walks, a good book, cooking fresh meals, and lingering over a cup of coffee. All these activities are made more enjoyable in the company of animals. 

Over the years Linda has had the pleasure of tending to a menagerie of creatures both great and small: dogs, cats, goats, horses, and even a mischievous skunk. While Chris excels in landscape maintenance, Linda enjoys nurturing houseplants.

Chris is a born caretaker. He's exceedingly patient, quite handy, and strongly believes in repairing things versus discarding. When not tinkering, he can usually be found in the garden--tending both flowers and vegetables.

We keep our modest home neat with everything in its place and always maintain that habit in our travels whether at a campsite, cabin, or bed and breakfast. We were both raised with old-school values of respectfulness for others and their property and so look forward to tending to your home and loving your pets like our own.

Chris and Linda were concientious, caring, and comprehensive in managing the many kinds of gardens here, handling the complex climate-control issues of our ecclectic house, and making sure the four goats and our outdoor cat stayed happy and healthy.  Getting in touch with me was not easy, so it was comforting to find them to be skilled at problem solving and handling basic home and garden concerns on their own and without a fuss. They did a wonderful job of following my unique aesthetic in caring for my perrenial gardens (which is a challenge, indeed!) and had the knowledge to tend the food gardens as well.  Tidy and organized, they left the house better than they found it and Chris even swept out the unruly garage. I've had housesitters in the summers for 8 years now, and Chris and Linda stand out for their honest desire to be of service and their friendly way of enjoying whatever life brings them. I highly recommend them as housesitters.

I cannot imagine any better better Housecarers. This is our third different set and all of them have been great. We continue to make life friends. Chris and Linda are meticulous loving carers and did fabulous with our 4 Labradors and our elderly cat. They also kept our house perfectly and WE are neat freaks! They were very friendly. They communicated with us often and we hope they will come again next year when we travel to Europe. 

They came in a day early and were attentive to all the tasks they had to do. They loved on our pups like they were their own. Chris even did some pruning and some yard things that shortened my list when I came home.

Chris and Linda Kopp were house sitters for us from June 12 through August 8, 2020.  They were exceptional and we returned to a most wonderfully kept house, lawn, garden, cat and fish.  They did an exceptional job with everything, and we highly recommend them for your housesitting needs.

Linda did an outstanding job with my many indoor and outdoor plants, and our decorative outdoor water feature which has both plants and fish, and both Linda and Chris kept our cat very happy and well groomed. 

Chris did a great job keeping the main yard in perfect condition, and our 3 acre field with a small tree farm thriving, including maintaining and managing an rather complex irrigation system.

Overall, everything was well maintained, and our home was in exceptional condition, and in some cases, better when we returned than when we left. 

We can not recommend any house sitters that we have in our nearly 10 years of using Housecarers.com any more highly than Chris and Linda, and we are confident that they will do an outstanding job if you choose them for any upcoming needs that you may have.

This Wanderlust couple did a great job for us. They spoiled my dog on their long walks, did a professional lawn and garden job and my house was very clean when we got back. That's all we asked for and they exceeded our expectations!
