We have been married for 43 years and are both retired from Canadian transportation and government employers. We're looking for opportunities to bless others by providing loving care to homeowners' animals and property as if they were our own. We're non-smokers, non-drinkers and respectful of others' homes and property. Our interests include travelling, participating in community theatre, refereeing and coaching basketball, e-biking, hiking, cooking, entertaining, kayaking, genealogy, reading, writing, music, gastronomy, and enjoying the great outdoors of the Canadian Maritimes where we are happy to call our home.
We're excited to be part of the house sitting network and look forward to taking care of more pets and visiting all the beautiful regions, domestic and foreign, on this amazing planet. It's wonderful meeting such a variety of people and pets.
Both of us have a variety of experience with animals, ranging from training and raising two Labradors and having farm dogs and cats. Maureen was a member of 4-H during her formative years and has some experience with a variety of farm animals as well. We taught our children the value of taking care of animals as we had hamsters, a cocker spaniel and bird. Several times we have pet-sat for friends who have rabbits, dogs and a budgie. We are very responsible home owners who have raised three children who are on their own. Our side-line home renovation business provided clients in our community with the satisfaction of quality repairs and maintenance. Many years in an administrative role has provided Maureen with a wealth of knowledge on managing routines and systems and we believe both of us as a team could offer peace of mind knowing that your beloved home and pets will be well looked after. She has experience working with travelers who want to take their pets with them, so she helped with documentation and imports & exports, quarantines, etc.
