About Us
Simon and Alison have enjoyed diverse professional careers including legal and government jobs. We have lived and worked in the UK, France and Australia and are both UK and Australian citizens. We love travelling in Europe and are looking forward to slowly exploring places we haven't yet visited.
We enjoy walking, running, cycling and are generally fit and active. We don't smoke and like the simple things in life. We are sociable and friendly but very happy with our own company - so no need for parties or late nights!
Why We Want to House Sit
We are looking to travel around Europe initially to go to different areas to house sit and enjoy life as a 'local', not as a tourist.
Our Experience
We have been informally house-sitting for several years - a by product of moving between countries and jobs on a fairly regular basis. We have been (and still are) home owners so know how to look after properties and we care for wherever we are as if it were our own. A few years ago we formally undertook a house-sit which included helping to run a B&B in France for six months - it was hard work but we loved it: coping in a different language, cooking for large numbers, looking after extensive grounds and even a spring-fed pool! And we returned the following year so can provide excellent references as a result.
What Can We Bring to the Assignment?
We can bring a lot of experience, reliability, good humour and flexibility to any situation that arises. Simon had his own building company for several years so is pretty handy and Alison is a good communicator, having at least a basic grasp of several European languages. We don't have pets ourselves but have enjoyed occasionally looking after friends animals.
We are very open and honest and are always willing to provide more information or discuss details until everyone is comfortable with the final agreement.
