As home owners and having been pet owners my husband and I know and understand the dilemma of wanting to travel but not leave your home and pets unattended or in kennels. Gordon is a retired Police Officer/Prosecutor myself a retired Behavioural Science professional and a Justice of the Peace
Why we want to house sit? We’ve spent over 35 years in the work force, the kids have grown up and left home and now it’s our time to have the adventures of a lifetime and explore the world. We are not ones who like to stay in hotels and resorts, we would rather experience the intimacy that staying in a home can provide. House sitting provides us with this opportunity along with having the 'pet' we no longer have at home. In the last few years we have taught English in China, house and pet/farm sat in France (multiple), Wales and Scotland (multiple), Cyprus, Bulgaria, Italy, Greece (multiple) and Canada looking after dogs, cats, pigs, chooks, fish, ducks, donkeys, goats and a grey parrot.
What do we bring to you? First off as home owners we are used to looking after our property which includes pool and large gardens. We are energetic and handy around the home and usually look after most maintenance issues ourselves. A photo of our home is included in my profile. We take pride in how our home looks. We have been pet owners which have included over the years mice, dogs, cats, fish, turtles, birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs. We’ve been asked to return to care for homes and pets of previous ‘housesits’ which I think demonstrates that a good job is being done!
