I am a largely retired, research scientist that is looking to house sit for weeks or months anywhere. I have lived alone for 20 years and am self-sufficient, resourceful and can manage everything from my own household, to my cottage rental property to a 65,000 square foot research & development facility (although I have no desire to do the later ever again!). Throughout my career I traveled extensively to over 30 countries and lived in the UK on two separate occasions and so am familiar and love finding my way around new living arrangements and their local surroundings. I have also traveled as a chaperon with local (Nova Scotia) high school students to foreign countries that required a police background check and bonding that can be arranged for you if required. Now that I am nearly retired, I want to experience as much of the world as I possible and can think of no better way to do that but to live in different places. I am very clean and neat, I love pets, and most importantly I am honest and hard-working. I am in good physical shape and love to garden, so would welcome the opportunity to maintain your garden/lawn/pool, etc. My only requirement is that I either have an internet or WIFI connection, or I am within driving distance of someplace with free WIFI service.
I love animals, dogs in particular, and also have experience with fish, birds, cats, chickens, turkeys, goats, cows and horses. I do not drink alcohol or smoke. I have vast experience taking care of my own places and I am responsible and conscientious. My most recent house sit was for 2.5 months on Saturna Island in BC, Canada and included looking after a dog and cat. I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to experience looking after your home in your absence!
