Hello! My husband & I are looking for a house- and dog-sitter for Wednesday 2nd May until Sunday 3rd of June .
We live in a nice small house a 10 minute walk from the beach with our two dogs, a Groodle (golden retriever x poodle) and Cavoodle (cavalier x poodle).
Bateau Bay is a small suburb on the Central NSW coast, about an hour and a half drive to Sydney. We have our beach at the end of the road which is not patrolled or too popular, a 5 minute drive away we have Shelly Beach which is a popular beach with a cafe & life guards. A 5 minute drive the other way is Forresters Beach, where there is an off lead dog beach we usually take our boys to run.
Catching the train to Gosford from Sydney is easy and takes about an hour and a half - depending on circumstances we would be happy to discuss lending one of our cars to you for the duration of your stay.
Our dogs are used to having us home with them most of the time, but are happy to be left at home alone some of the time. They are outside sometimes and inside when we're home and sleep inside. They are both around 9 years old & love going for walks.
Mousse (Groodle) does have anxiety issues and is on medication for this. He is very anxious around larger dogs and we have strategies to minimse this, which we would go through thoroughly with you.
They are both friendly and loving and have had someone stay with then while we've been on holidays four times in the last couple of years using sitters from this site and we've had no issues.
We would like a person or couple who have previous experience with dogs and with house minding, and who are quiet and respectful of our home. If this sounds like it might suit you, we'd love to hear from you & either arrange to meet or to have a chat. If you have any questions, please let us know! Also, due to the size of our house it is not really suitable for a family (unless it’s with a little person, as we do have a 1yr old of our own, so one room is set up with a cot etc).
