A little bit about myself:
I am an experienced caretaker and a professional business man as a semi-retired painting and building contractor licensed in the state of Hawaii. I will work to provide you with the utmost service and care for your home as well as your wonderful pets. My goal is to follow the orders and guidelines as set forth by you, the resident owner(s). I have a loving, nurturing and natural connection to all animals no matter the type and will take the utmost care with love and playfullness while they are in my care. I shall follow your care guidelines for your pet(s) to the letter. I have had many pets in my lifetime as did my grown children. We were 4H members for many years in Colorado and had many animals that we loved and played with as friends and buddies.
I am a licensed contractor skilled in many areas of construction and home maintenance with over 43 years of experience. I am very skilled in all phases of home maintenance, up-keep and repairs. My longest house sitting job was for over five years during which time I completely remodeled my clients home and totally landscaped her property with local Hawaiian fruit trees, flowers, vegetables and other assorted plants. When the housing market came back up about 1.5 years ago, she put it back on the market and did quite well with the very first buyer! I moved shortly after she listed the property and am now living off grid in a "tiny home" in Eden Roc Hawaii and I have the ability to come and go as I choose. I love to surf, paddle canoe and hike in out of the way places on this and the outer islands. I am familiar with the landscape of most of the outer islands and spent some years living on Oahu with my inherited "hanai" family on my Hawaiian step-father's side. I had another long term house and pet sitting position in Snowmass Colorado just outside of Aspe. I lived in the lower level half of a four thousand square feet cabin nestled at 8500 feet overlooking Snowmass Creek for about three years. I also took care of their little terrier, Benny, while the owners traveled 8 to10 months out of the year as in-house entertainers for The IBM corporaton. I also spent 10 months living on a two thousand acre ranch with, horses, cattle and several dogs. My duty was to help the owner's son finish building his three thousand square feet up-scale log home on thier vast property in exchange for room and occasional meals. One of the most incredible experiences of my life to say the least. I accepted the opportunity and the challenge and they did move in after ten months of hard work. Previous to my arrival, they waited nearly three years for someone like me to come along to commit and complete the project and we did most of the work during a Colorado winter, ice and all!
I do prefer a longer term commitment as your home and pet sitter and care taker. I will, however, negotiate with you on any reasonable length of time that works for you. I am easy to get along with and I take my responsibilities with joy and commitment . I have professional references available upon request and some will be posted here on my new site.
