Gulargambone is a small country town located between Gilgandra and Coonamble. Our property is 13km southwest of Gulargambone. The farm is 1200ha of mainly farming country, with cattle run on non arable country. Gulargambone is home to the Award winning 2828 Café, which has won many tourism awards. The town also boasts a clean well run public swimming pool, Bowling Club, Hotel, Supermarket, Takeaway Food shop, CRT Rural supplies and Hardware, RTC including Post Office, a 24hr Fuel outlet (card operated), Award winning caravan Park, and MPS Medical centre. Gulargambone is 120km north of Dubbo (Western Plains Zoo, regional shopping, and cultural activities), 60km west of the Warrumbungle National Park (walking trails and landscape site seeing), 220km from Lightning Ridge Opal fields, 100km east of the Macquarie marshes. Golf courses are located at neighbouring towns of Warren, Coonamble and Gilgandra. Small country Hotels are located at Collie and Armatree.
The home on the property, “Terang” is surrounded by a pleasant garden atmosphere, back area of lawn, with beds surrounding garden fence, front, back and sides. Home is Air conditioned, has good TV reception with Austar, Wireless Internet, and 3G Mobile service, as well as Landline Telstra service. The road to town is all weather. “Terang” offers a peaceful and quiet lifestyle, with internal roads which are suitable for walking. The terrain is flat, and if a cyclist, suitable roads are nearby. Located near the homestead is a workshop, which is equipped with welding equipment, and some woodwork equipment, for the hobby enthusiast.
We are seeking a retired couple to care for our home, garden and pets for approx 2 weeks while we are away, holidaying at the Sunshine Coast. Pets include 1 cat, and 3 dogs ( 1 kelpie and 2 Border Collies). The garden is watered by hoses, manual move sprinkles, and some inline watering. A reliable ride on Lawn mower is available to do the mowing. Farm animals include 2 sheep (pets), 10 alpacas, and cattle, which will be checked by workman.
My brother lives close by, if help/advice is needed. Our workman will be here on odd days, checking livestock and stock water. He will also be able to assist with any problems. If rain has occurred, he will be here carrying out farming operations. We will also be contactable on our mobile , or .
You will be welcome to stay a night with us before we leave to get to know the ins and outs. We feel you will find your stay comfortable, relaxing and a chance to see rural NSW. There are many things to see in the region, all within a day trip.
