I'm happy. healthy and have many years of experience living in tropical countries and am familiar with their challenges (weather, wildlife, mould, ants, security etc.)
I speak fairly good spanish, drive 4x4, can do most gardening, swimming pool and home maintenance.
I'm young and fit, 60, non smoker, I like a beer or 2 at sunset.
In the last 10 years I've successfully completed 12 caretaking jobs in Tuscany Italy, Ecuador, Ireland, Bali indonesia, Costa Rica, Belize, Mexico, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Vancouver Island. and a small hotel in the Yukon. I have references for all of these. All but one were from this site housecareres .
Animals I have cared for include rescue dogs and purebreds, mastiffs to corgies, many cats, parrots, fish ( both aquarium and tilapia farm) sheep, goats, horses, chickens and a tarantula.
I take great pride in their maintenance, comfort and care.
Having spent many years off grid I'm familiar with various alternative systems and am comfortable in isolated places.
Im lucky to have a steady sitter look after my house while I'm away and understand the need for communication between the owners and caretakers.
I know the value of keeping pets stress free and on their normal schedule.
Just retired from Parks Canada as a tour guide in Dawson City, Yukon.
Have been busy during pandemic and year since looking after my aging dog and mother. I now find myself ready to give this care to other peoples pets and homes.
I always treat your place with love, respect and care and leave it better for your return.
