As a nanny to two beautiful children for four years during Law School, I was thrown in the deep end in terms of juggling kids, pets, house-duties and a sense of humour. As a privacy lawyer now, I miss those chaotic mornings :-) but I still get asked to house-sit by friends and acquaintances on account of my love for animals, plants and a new challenge.
I have been given the chance to work and study in the US (New York) from October'12 to October'13 . I cannot wait to live and breathe NYC! It would be fantastic to find one or more homes to mind during all or part this time.
As for my particular skills and experience, I am happy to provide further information and testimonials. However, to summarise:
(a) I have sat both small and large homes, including swimming pools, complex security systems and one extensive art collection. (b) I have minded old and young dogs, cats, birds, cows, horses and a goat; and have fallen in love with each and every one of them (perhaps besides the goat!). (c) I was minding children and animals during the Brisbane floods of'08 and was house-sitting during the Queensland floods of January'11. Sand-bagging efforts saved both houses from flood damage and I commenced extensive clean up efforts in the gardens. Of course, I managed the kids and animals to high ground and all were safe and relaxed.
I cant imagine NYC can throw anything at me I have not experienced in a house-sitting context. But I'm up for the challenge! Feel free to contact me on the details provided.
