We presently work at a coal-fired thermal electric plant. We've worked together at the same place, and mostly on the same crew, for thirty four years. So we've got some teamwork skills We've both worked as plant equipment operators, responsible for everything from making ultra-pure water for the boilers to spinning the fourteen thousand hp aux turbines.
We're experienced heavy equipment operators (bulldozer, dump trucks, loader, etc.) We have Class II water & wastewater certifications in Washington State. We were state certified rehabilitators for hurt raptors (hawks & owls We've lived at the same place in rural WA for thirty-five years now. We have fruit & nut trees, extensive landscaping, and an ornamental fish pond that we built. We have a vintage Ford Six Hundred tractor to haul our firewood and maintain the fields. We've put up a mile or two of fence. We've "gone solar", so to speak, with a SDHW system and some small-scale PV projects.
No kids, cigs, or drugs.
Bill possesses a wide-ranging skillset - mechanical, masonry, cabinet building, PC repair, carpentry, roofing, house painting, electrical, plumbing, etc. He can safely operate chainsaws, stringtrimmers, leaf blowers, table saws, Skilsaws, that kind of thing. If you need a little welding and you're not too far away he can bring his wire feed welder.
Patti is an instinctive cook and an excellent seamstress. Or if you'd like she could operate a bulldozer for you Patti has incredible empathy for animals. There are too many animal stories to tell in this space.
While working for Weyerhauser, she operated big tree transplanters and worked in their research center, grafting & cloning super-trees. She's a state certified mobile crane operator, and possesses a WA state commercial driver's license.
After the heartbreak of putting our wonderful nineteen-year old cat to sleep three years ago, we had to think hard about what was next. We decided to keep it to the goldfish in the pond, and prepare for the bold possibility of becoming caretakers.
