Looking for an excellent house-sitter while I am away so that my two cats have company and my vegetables do not shrivel. I would consider a couple, a single adult, or a parent and child.
Tacoma is about thirty-two miles south of Seattle, with good access by car or public transport (express bus and commuter train). It is easy to get to Mount Rainier, to the Nisqually Wild Life Refuge, to Vashon Island or over to Gig Harbor and the Olympic Peninsula.
Downtown Tacoma boasts the Museum of Glass, the new Tacoma art museum, a downtown University of Washington campus, a re-emerging waterfront and the inimitable Grand movie theater.
My house is in the Proctor District of Tacoma, a neighborhood of established older homes, on a leafy boulevard. It is in walking distance of our local library, restaurants, post office, a little movie theater (the Blue Mouse), the farmer's market and our trendy upscale supermarket, as well as the Safeway. The University of Puget Sound is walking distance in the other direction. It is about eight minutes from downtown by car, ten mins from the Insterstate.
If location and dates look as if they would be a good fit for you, let's start a dialog.
