Come to Westcliffe, Colorado to enjoy the spring in our log home on 70 acres. Your responsibilities will be to care for our senior Border Collie mix, a senior house cat and 2 barn kitties. Hunter, the dog, goes for a 10 minute walk each day. The barn kitties live in the barn and need water and food refilled and litter boxes emptied every other day. You'll need to fill bird feeders and bird baths and water some outside plants. We no longer have livestock, but our neighbors use our pastures for their Longhorns so they're fun to watch.
The main floor consists of a living room, the kitchen and dining area, a laundry room, a full bath and the guest bedroom. The bedroom has a queen bed and a dresser and closet for your use. There is WiFi throughout the house.
The TV room is downstairs in the walk out basement. We have Dish Network with access to Netflix and Prime if you have accounts You can walk outside from the TV room to a covered patio and a fire ring area.
The house has a deck on two sides as well as a sunroom attached to the barn for those cool or windy days. All have a view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, which have many hiking trails. You can also walk out from the house and go for miles on the dirt roads.
We are close to Lake Deweese if you'd care to fish.
The barn has an apartment with a stationery bicycle as well as a Bow Flex for your use.
We will not have a vehicle for your use, but you will have access to the attached garage.
You will be 9 miles (3 on a dirt road) from the cute little town of Westcliffe, CO. It has grocery stores, gas stations, a medical clinic, a Post Office, a Health Club, a bowling alley, museums, a theater with live shows and movies, many shops, several restaurants, several art galleries, and an observatory for viewing the stars. Westcliffe is a Dark Skies Community -- you can see the Milky Way ! There is more information at is an hour drive to Canon City and the Royal Gorge. You can also reach Salida, Pueblo and Florence, the Antique Capital of Colorado, in about an hour. Colorado Springs is a 2 hour drive.
