My partner and I are looking for a person or family to stay in our home over the holidays and look after our sweet cat Michi (who will turn one right around Christmas, we think). We rescued Michi earlier this year after finding him alone, about 4 weeks old, in a ditch. He is very social and loves spending time with people -- so I'm hoping to find someone who is a cat lover like me and will play with him, cuddle with him, etc. He is very little work, reliably uses his litter box, has a self-filtering water bowl, and just needs a scoop of dry food twice a day -- we mostly just want to make sure he is not lonely. If you're up for it, our next door neighbors would also appreciate someone looking in on their chickens, which we normally do when they're away. It's basically just letting them out to forage occasionally, refilling their water & food when it runs out, and collecting their eggs (which you'd be welcome to!)
We live in a lovely historic home just north of City Park in Denver. There will be 2 bedrooms available with one king bed and one queen, plus 1.5 baths, off-street parking for two cars, a private backyard with a patio and fire pit, washer/dryer in the basement, spacious and comfy living room and dining room. TV with netlfix, hulu, ROKU.
The house is easy walking distance to the park, and there are several cafes, restaurants, and a few boutiquey shops nearby. We are about 3 miles from downtown, and just a mile from Denver's historic Five Points neighborhood, as well as Capitol Hill and RiNo, both of which have many more bars and restaurants. We are also very close to the zoo, for visiting "zoo lights" around Christmas, as well as the lights display at the botanic gardens.
Please reach out if you think you might be a good fit. I know the holidays can be tricky so we can be flexible on dates (for instance, start right after Christmas instead of right before). We thought this might be a good fit for someone who wanted to get away for the holidays to a new town -- or anyone who happens to have family in Denver but would like to stay in their own space while visiting. If any of the above sound like you, we'd love to connect!
