We are looking for sitters (an individual or couple) who can take care of our affectionate yet bossy Cat named Crunchy. He is a cuddly, litter-box trained, 14-year-old fixed male tabby with Hyperthyroidism. He is very easy to manage, but does require medication in the morning and evening (hidden within a ball of mince). He is mainly an indoor cat - 15-30 mins outside in the morning and afternoon is all he really desires before coming inside again for a nap. If you head out during the day to explore, we ask that Crunchy remain inside.
So for those cat-lovers willing and able to help take care of Crunchy while we're away, we'd love to share our 2-bedroom Hobart home that overlooks the city, rolling green hills and river Derwent.
Situated in a charming neighborhood behind the University of Tasmania, you can explore the nearby beaches and forest trails or visit the city (only a 5 minute drive or 45 minute walk away).
The house itself is an older model, rustic yet spacious, so you can relax and make yourself at home. It is a 2 story house: you will have access to the entire top floor only (accessible via 9 steps). The ground floor will be locked up. We have wifi (NBN connection) you can use, but no television - so if you'd like to veg-out in front of the fireplace in the evening we'd recommend you bring along your laptop/tablet. We'll provide firewood and Crunchy will also help to keep you warm on the couch!
Additionally, if you own/can borrow/can hire a car we would recommend being able to drive during your stay. We have off-street driveway parking. There is just so much to see and do around the state from national parks, world-famous art galleries and heritage-listed townships you really need a car to be able to access these places. Just take note of parking signs or national park fees.
Tasmania is a beautiful place to visit - especially during the Christmas/New Year period when it's warmer - so if you love cats and are interested in finding out more, please do get in touch with us!
