We are looking for a house and dog sitter for Dec 9th through Dec 17th, who can feed our dog twice daily (around 6 am and 5 pm), and keep the house well maintained and tidy.
The dog has a doggie door so she can let herself in and out at will. If she gets wet/muddy, we will need the sitter to clean her up along with anything that got dirty in the house, such as the floor (which are mostly hardwood floors so easy to clean). We have pads for the couch she likes to sit on and a blanket on our bed where she usually sleeps at night. If she wants to sleep with the sitter and the feeling is mutual, this is fine as well. She is a very affectionate dog to people who sit with her but will often bark as you first come in until she knows you well. While the sitter can be gone as much as desired in the day time, we need the sitter to at least spend the nights in the house. We cannot let the sitter bring any other pets.
It is also requested that the bird and squirrel feeders in the back yard be refilled when low or empty. We will show you where the supplies are for this.
Our property is a fully fenced and gated 2.6 acre, mostly wooded, partially solar-powered, homesite on a quiet rural/country road only 1 mile from the Research Triangle Park (RTP), 1 mile from the Jordan Lake gamelands, 5 minutes from a large mall, 3 miles from a park and access point to the American Tobacco Trail, 15 minutes from the airport, with easy access to Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill and Raleigh. We have an upstairs guestroom with queen sized bed and large closet for the sitter, with a private bathroom right next to the bedroom. The yard has a roughly half mile private walking trail in the woods, and the great room has an 18 foot ceiling with nearly floor to ceiling windows looking North into the woods, gardens and bird/squirrel feeders. We have separate HVAC units on each level and ceailing fans in all living areas. There is also a large deck on the North side of the house with reclining patio chairs near the back door that can be taken outside when the weather is nice.The sitter is welcome to use fridge/freezer space, the oven, stove, microwave, washer and dryer. If the sitter would like to use the solar dehydrator, he/she can get instructions from us on how to use it as well.
