We are looking for a someone to look after our dog for 3 weeks in March, walk her once a day and keep our home well maintained and tidy.
Our house is in a beautiful, quiet area on the west side of Calgary, Alberta and boasts a nice little view of the Rocky Mountains from the upper deck. Just an hour's drive away from the Rockies, and Banff National Park, it is a great opportunity to explore Canada's wilderness and soak up magnificent scenery. If you love downhill skiing, March has some of the best conditions in the mountains. We have snowshoes and cross country skiis available for your use as well.
Our house is a bungalow with a walkout basement, and south facing backyard bringing lots of sunlight throughout the day, and warmth to the decks for spring lounging.
We are located in the suburb of Richmond Hill which is located fairly centrally and is a short walking distance to extensive shopping, lots of restaurants, library, and many other amenities.
Our dog is a 5 year old female Rhodesian Ridgeback, named Komodo. She is 95lbs and is a very calm and mellow dog. She is well trained and easy to care for. She does get some separation anxiety when we leave her but with lots of extra love and cuddles, she is quite happy. She requires one walk daily for at least an hour. But with the walking / biking pathways behind our house, it is so nice to go for a daily stroll with her. She also love the offleash dog parks in the city. Or, if you are heading out to mountains for the day, she makes an excellent hiking partner.
She requires a pill twice weekly, to manage her urinary incontinence, which is put inside a treat and gobbled down readily. While her medication treats her incontinence, occasionally she will have an accident, while sleeping, on her mat. For this reason, we NEVER let her on the furniture. Her mat cover easily fits in the washing maching and make clean up easy.
Being early spring, there will not be the need to mow the lawn or provide any garden maintenance. The only outdoor mainenance that will be required is to shovel the driveway if it snows, although the month of March does not usually get much snow in the city.
