Our dogs are litter mates and will be turning 7 in November. Though they look more or less identical, their personalities couldn't be more different! Sadie is very lazy, will go for walks but has slowed down quite a bit this past year. She has always been very mellow and loves anyone who will give her a belly rub. Oliver is very high energy, and often times doesn't know when it's time to stop. He loves to play ball and run- he needs a job most of the time. They are both very mild mannered, sweet loving dogs. I ask that they be taken on at least one walk a day, but a couple of short walks are always good too for a change of scenery. I ask that our sitters don't take them off leash to the beach or parks other than the gated park in our community. They aren't always the best listeners so it's better not to chance it! They are fed 2 x a day and they do have a kennel outside as a "safe" place to be so you don't have to worry about them getting out while you are gone exploring the town. They are fine outside for up to about 6 or so hours at a time so you can feel like you can explore the area and have some fun as well.
We live in a single family home in a very quiet family neighborhood. There are bike paths, golf courses, tennis courts, etc. all in walking distance, and the beach is about a 1/4 mile as well. There is a heated swimming pool in our complex as well. We are about 15 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara and 30 minutes from the Santa Ynez valley.
