One Newfoundland (Gentle Giant) in search of caring person or couple to hang out with her October . We're located in Ajijic, Mexico, on beautiful Lake Chapala, near Guadalajara. (The airport is just 35 minutes from here!)
Annie is 4 and still a bit bouncy but she settles down quickly once she's met you and the excitement has worn off. Be careful! She loves to crawl in your lap and give you big Newfy hugs!
Her home is located in the middle of our small village in a very friendly and safe Mexican neighborhood. The community plaza is one block away, the lake and its malecon are 3 blocks from here. Grocery and veggie stores are a block or so away and the main shopping area with restaurants and shops begins just one block over! When there are local parades - and they happen often - the route typically takes them 1/2 block from the house!
The house has an open floor plan with big windows and doors bringing in the Mexican sunlight. A solar heated pool and jacuzzi are available for your enjoyment.
We ask that you keep the plants watered and be available to let the pool guy in twice a week. Otherwise, feed, water and love on Annie. If you are comfortable walking her, that would be great - she loves an outing and many of the nearby restaurants and coffee shops are dog friendly! If you take a walk with a Newfoundland, you are guaranteed to draw new friends - from retired couples to small Mexican children - who want to pet the “big bear dog” and take photos with her!
Ajijic is a fabulous little community - home to hundreds of expats that have moved here for the lifestyle, the perfect climate, and the multitude of activities that take place here. While a knowledge of Spanish might help your experience, it certainly isn't necessary. Located in the mountains, the average daily temperature in October is 75º F (24º C), cooling off to about 55 º F (13º C) at night. Perfect!
