We are looking for a cat sitter for a week in January while we visit Yellowstone!
We are wildlife photographers and maintain a wildlife travel .
We have two cats. Scamper is an active 19 year old and Sadie is a happy 14 year old. They both are allowed to go out whenever they want through their cat door. Scamper is a snuggly lap kitty and he will appreciate a warm lap each day. Sadie is a bit more independent but also appreciates a good snuggle in bed (yes, she usually spends the night by our side) and enjoys playing with cat toys in her favorite cardboard box.
We'd like someone who likes peace and quiet since our house is at the end of a gravel road and surrounded by trees.
Our house is only 480 square feet but spaciously designed as two large rooms (living room/kitchen and bedroom with dressing nook). We have another unit downstairs which we rent on . We don't have any guests checking in during the time we're in Yellowstone, so you won't have any responsibilities, but there is a guest who will be checking out the day after your arrival (Sunday the 18th). After that, you'll have the property to yourself.
Across the street is a large golf course that is excellent for walks. We have two tiny ponds in our yard which the cats and our local wildlife enjoy drinking from. We have many birds year round and an interesting collection of small mammals from flying squirrels to foxes.
We have standard home amenities including high speed wifi, full kitchen, bath with bathtub/shower, and a tv that plays netflix/amazon etc. (we don't get cable television.)
Although it feels like we are out in the country, we are actually a very short drive from downtown Asheville (only 6 minutes by car.) And even closer to the vibrant restaurant and bar scene of West Asheville. There are many beautiful mountain and waterfall hikes within an hour drive from Asheville, including the amazing Greaet Smoky Mountains National Park.
We will be driving our car to the airport and leaving it there so you will need to bring/rent your own car. Our gravel road is a bit narrow and bumpy and a little steep in one spot and every once in a while we get a big snow, though in four years we haven't got stuck yet. Just a heads-up!
