Lakefront for Fourth of July week!!!
Must love dogs and be content with a peaceful and quiet lakefront setting. We are remotely located, but have neighbors within a stone's throw. Situated on beautiful Lake Harding, mid-way between Auburn/Opelika, AL and Phenix City,AL/Columbus, GA. It's 15 miles to the closest Walmart, but about 7 to a small country grocery/gas mart where you can get most of the basics. If you are looking for excitement, an urban environment, and are easily bored, this is not for you. If you are looking to unwind and recharge, you should be happy here.
Mid-sized home - three bedrooms, three baths. Kayak, paddle boat, lakefront water access with private dock for sunbathing or sitting in the shade of an umbrella or on the covered deck where you can see for miles up river.
Non-smokers only. Looking for mature retiree(s) well over "Fool's Hill." Must have references.
Our home is seven years old and is neat and orderly (until you look in closets and drawers!) The property is currently for sale, but you would not be asked to show the home or permit anyone to see it. We have close long-term neighbors who would be on call should you have any questions or concerns and who would probably introduce themselves if they see you outside. Internet access, cable TV.
Our dogs are our number one priority. Sadie is our two year old miniature Schnauzer (about 14 pounds) and is a very, very loving and fun dog with a huge personality. She has been raised by a full-time retired dad parent, so she wants to interact. Molly is our 12 pound mega-chunk-Yorkie. She is a rescue who lived through horrific conditions. She is very sweet and not a bit of trouble, but scared and will warm up to you on her own terms. Sadie is 100% house-trained. We are still working with Molly but she is at 98%. We have a pet door they are free to go in and out of at any time. Molly needs to be reminded to go out and she is very obedient. She also uses one pet pad inside but often goes for several weeks without using it at all, remembering to go outside all on her own. The entire property is perimeter fenced with electric gates at the road so they do not need to be walked. Fed once a day at night - a mixture of wet and dry food.
The dogs can be left alone for several hours at a time, so you would be free to go to "town." Columbus, GA is about 25 miles away. In the other direction are Opelika and Auburn, AL also about miles away. Nice restaurants, shopping, movie theaters, and Columbus offers some cultural and sports events.
