My home is a lovely north facing home with big windows looking out onto paddocks. It is a rural area and I have 3 acres, we are 5 mins from Littlehampton and Nairne and 10 Mins to the larger shopping area of Mt Barker. It's also 10 min from Hahndorf tourist town home to Beerenberg farm where you can go strawberry picking. We are only 25 mins to Adelaide city and the same to Strathalbyn a lovely farming town with many antique shops and lovely tourist destination. Between these 2 destinations you will find Warrawong Wildlife sanctuary and Cleland Wildlife park. Locally there are many hills markets and if you wish you can drive 40mins south east taking you to Murray Bridge and our beautiful Murray River also home to Monarto Zoo. We are only 50 mins to Glenelg beach and shopping strip, a beautiful swimming stretch of our lovely coast line. Which ever direction you decide to head you cant go wrong. I am a very independent 43 and The reason I require a house sitter is that I am having major reconstructive surgery on my arm. I require someone to reside with me for a day or two before I go in to hospital in order for you to be familiarized with the animals' routine . After discharge I will stay a week or two with a friend. Then after I return back to my home I would like the house sitter to help me for a further week or so to assist me with the animals until I can manage. no doubt once I get back into routine myself it wont take long to get my independence back.
The house sitting requirements involve caring for my beautiful affectionate inside dogs and also my inside cat. My Tenterfield terrier has mild anxiety and needs reassurance so the house sitter needs to be willing to give her cuddles and make her feel secure while I am away. My English Springer Spaniel and my cat are laid back and very easy to care for. All animals including the horses require twice daily feeds and hope needs medication. The horses need very little, you will have hay which you will put in paddock twice daily and keep an eye on trough. I have a small garden area with new plants and some vegetables to water daily, as I am on rain water I don't worry about any of the lawn or the rest of the garden areas.
