We are looking for a mature, non-smoking house sitter/ couple with references to look after our fur kids. We have one lazy cat and two small dogs, a Tenterfield Terrier and a Maltese- Shitzu. They need some attention as they are people dogs, just happy to have someone around to pat and feed them. We live in an old Queenslander house with a low maintenance garden, only requiring lawn mowing when necessary.
We live in the small river coastal town of Innisfail in Far North Queensland, which is located one hour south of Cairns and is in the heart of the Wet Tropics World Heritage area. The beautiful tropical beaches are all within fifteen minutes drive. Also within one to two hours drive we have the beautiful town of Kuranda, Port Douglas, the Atherton Tablelands with its many tropical fruits , the start of the Savanah Way with its many fossicking fields,Herberton Historical Village. The famous Paronella Park is only15 minutes away.
Our town has all shopping, medical and sporting facilities available within a short distance. Within in 5 to 10 minutes walk from our home there is the lawn bowls club, town swimming pool, RSL Club, the town centre with a variety of shopping and supermarkets and the beautiful Johnstone Rivers. The Innisfail Golf Club is a short drive to the other side of town.
During September and October we have a warm climate, not too hot, and generally very little rainfall on average. This is the best time of the year for the many outdoor activities available, including swimming, walking in the rainforests of the World Heritage listed Wet Tropics, or simply strolling through the many markets in the Far North Queensland Region. We ask that the house and yard are kept tidy and secure and that the fur kids are well looked after, with the occasional walk. If you have any questions please ask.
