We own a beautiful executive house in Parap, Darwin, Northern Territory. It is close to the world-renowned Parap and Mindel Beach Markets, Darwin harbour, some good restaurants and bars.
The house has 4 bedrooms (one with a king size bed, the second with a queen, one office and a music room), double lock up garage, internal laundry + dryer, large open living area with separate dining space, dishwasher, gas cook top/electric oven, beautiful outlook to pool and tropical garden from main bedroom and living area, bbw & outdoor setting.
House sitting duties are: maintenance of our much loved home to the highest standard; care for our pets - shitzu/maltese (not a yapper) requires walking for 15 minutes each morning and evening and she sleeps on the bed (very snuggly dog), feeding 2 cats who are indoor/outdoor but who also love a good brush & cuddle, feeding fish in two ponds in the back yard; keeping an eye on the watering system (fully reticulated/on a timer but sometimes can go awry when ants get involved); watering our pot plants (around 15 under the back verandah); collecting the mail; maintaining the pool etc.
We will expect the sitter to meet all costs associated with utilities / any damage to the property and contents beyond reasonable wear and tear during the period.
We are seeking an older couple or single female to housesit for us. Due to the nature of our property, consideration of our neighbours & pets, we will not consider applications from backpackers, young couples, applicants with children or own pets. It is also a requirement that the sitter commit to stay in our house for the full period we are away, that means no overnights elsewhere.
June to August is truly the best time to be in Darwin given the weather (magical dry!) which coincides with the local festival season.
