We have a 70 acre property adjoining the Cromarty Wetlands, mostly bush. We have 14 chooks, 2 rooster (at the moment), fish and 2 small dogs.
Being in a rural area allows us to enjoy growing our own vegies and recycling (worm farm), chook manure, compost bin etc.
We will be going overseas for 5.5 weeks but feel it worth a few days beforehand to get to know the 2 dogs, one is older (poodle terrier cross - low rider) and one 2 years (shitsu lhasso cross). One was saved at the RSPCA and is now 14, although he's slowing down if you give him an inch, he'll take a mile... so better to see him with us and know the drill. I'd hate to cause either of them distress by us going away.
We would love for someone to come and enjoy the best time of the year (yeah I know pity we are going away) in NQld. The property is 40km from Townsville and very private, the house is situated toward the back of the block and cannot been seen from any direction. We have many varieties of birds and lots of wallaby's (pretty face). We also have 5 frill necked lizards which now call this place home.
We have 3 rain water tanks, a house bore and a watering bore (deep). The house generally runs on all rain water and the layout of the taps etc is important to whoever comes, we will explain everything.
We have 3.6kw solar system installed which feeds back into the grid.
The house is 3 bedroom, 2 built in, lounge and rear area airconditioned (generally in winter we don't need to use them but it's optional).
Being so near the Cromarty Wetland, literally down the same road, we love the bird life and are trying to create a haven to encourage birds by planting native shrubs and trees.
In a nutshell we're looking for a retired couple to come and enjoy 7 weeks in beautiful part of the country. The only request we would have is that the dogs are not left overnight on their own.
