The property is located in the city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The house is on a hill in a residential subdivision and overlooks the Strait of Georgia and the Winchelsea Islands. This location has quick access to the water since it is the fourth house from steps that lead to the beach. It is also within walking distance of one of the largest shopping malls on Vancouver Island as well as many other retail outlets like Wal-Mart, Costco, Canadian Tire, Staples, Home Depot, The Bay and many others. There is also a nice selection of restaurants in the area if you like to eat out. I have an eight year old male cat, half Siamese and he is a very gentle, loveable and quiet cat. He goes outside frequently during the day and usually returns every 2 – 3 hours. Most of the time he is in the back yard, or he is asleep inside the house. In addition to looking after the house and cat, I would ask the house sitters to water three plants on the balcony and to cut the grass when needed (usually once a week) which takes me about ¾ - 1 hour. My lawn mower is a self propelled Honda with mulching blades so there is no need to deal with any grass after cutting. Also, perhaps you could pick up the mail once or twice a week which is three houses way. As I mentioned earlier the time frame could be extended to 2 – 4 months depending on the outcome of my trip.
