We are an active, non-smoking, retired professional couple (Naval Officer and Marriage & Family Therapist) looking to house sit throuought Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, as well as San Diego and Monterey, CA, and Santa Fe, NM. We can provide references from previous house-sittings.
We lived on our sailboat for 9 years in the Caribbean and rented out our home, so we understand the inherent problems of home ownership and the anxiety of having strangers in your home while you are away.
We love pets and will care for them along with your home as if they were our own. We were both raised with dogs and have had as many as three dogs at a time. We did not have dogs on the sailboat and still do not. We miss them and have never house-sat for a pet that we didn't grow to love. In the process of previous house-sits we have also learned what great pets cats can be.
San Diego area is very important to us because we have two sisters / sisters in law there who are experiencing some health problems. Monterey also has special meaning to us since we met and courted in Monterey years ago.
We do not have a strong preference for short vs long term house sits. It would depend on the area and particular time of year.
Our experience to date has been that house-sitting is a win-win situation both for the house-sitter and the home owner. We would like to continue in that tradition.
