We are Al and Manuela, a retired couple seeking a house sitter for about 3 months in 2008 while we are in Germany. Although we have not set the exact dates, we are planning to depart the week of July 27 and to return the week of Oct 19 or Oct 26.
We have a lovely 4 year old, 3-bedroom, log home overlooking Lake Cumberland, outside of Somerset Kentucky – approximately 75 miles south of Lexington. This is a semi-mountainous region largely known for its outdoor recreation, such as boating, fishing, hunting, and hiking. We are also within reasonable driving distances to attractions in Tennessee and North Carolina.
We have several gardens and indoor plants that, at most, would need watering, a spoiled cat (or rather one who has trained us well), and an above ground pool that will require maintenance if we keep it open for your use. We have broadband internet and Dish Network satellite TV.
