Cleanliness, maturity, and responsibility are critical. Other than maintaining the home in its condition at the time the sitter moves in (very clean), the only responsibility is to care for the very loving, playful (when not sleeping) and enjoyable six year old 3-legged cat.
Our home in the historic community of Port Madison is a mid-century, glass walled home with excellent sun light all day (this is important in the Northwest). The terrain falls away from the house toward the waters of Hidden Cove. Overlooking one row of houses, we have a nice view of the entrance to and the anchorage in Hidden Cove. Grocery shopping, dining, and all such needs are accessible by car within 15 minutes. The Seattle ferry is accessible by car within 20 minutes. The ferry provides access to Seattle. In the opposite directing one may drive to the Olympic National Park within hours. Many waterfront communities are also accessible in less than one hour's drive.
