My house is a single family home located a few miles outside of Wasilla, Alaska. Yes it's outside of town but not in the middle of nowhere. One dog is a male American Bulldog (not fixed). He's very friendly and calm. The other is a male Husky Mix that I got from the pound. He's very shy and skittish and might take a couple days to warm up to you but he's not mean. Both are around 100 pounds. However because they are large male dogs they require an alpha to be in charge or they will take advantage of you and start doing whatever they want. I don't mean hitting them, but you can't be afraid to raise your voice.
I am intending to start a garden this spring but we'll see how it turns out. So there might be some minor weeding & watering required. It will be a small area and/or a greenhouse. Also you must be willing to mow the yard or it will get out of control.
July is probably the best month to visit Alaska. There is no snow and the hiking and scenery is amazing. If you enjoy fishing the salmon runs are great. Also Halibut fishing will be good as well.
I will be flying out late Sunday night on the 14th but I would need you to come at least by Sat so you can meet the dogs and I have enough time to show you everything. I will depart the house on Sunday afternoon.
I recommend renting a car while you are here so you can see the area. But no overnight trips because the dogs do not ride well in vehicles so you can't take them.
