contact other HomeownersHouse in forest. We have two dogs (Maggie and Blue). Maggie is a yellow lab (9)and Blue is a small mix dog - both are well trained and quiet (even the lab). They take two (ideally) supervised walks off leash on a path in the woods. We have two neighbors down the lane. We also have two cats: Tristan and Tess who are inside/outside cats. They have a cat door; no litter boxes to clean. Hurray! There is a fenced in backyard (very very big). So the dogs and cats have places to roam and exercise, but, of course, prefer to be indoors with us. We are less than an hour from a plethora of potters and artisans ..there are lakes to visit, state parks to explore, historical sites to ponder, and small towns to poke around (Mebane, Pittsboro as well as Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill). Three major universities are close by: Duke University, University of NC-Chapel Hill, NC State. We are Duke fans. There is a dog/cat door for easy entrance/exit to the house into a fence-in backyard. We have cable,DVD, big flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, bookshelves full of books ... lots of windows and light. Place is in the woods & private but very close to shopping (less than 2 miles) and two neighbors (sisters). You can come in the evening before to meet and greet.
We hope you'll enjoy the stay with our "kids". There is plenty to do here. As it will be warm during this time, the walks can take place later in the day so as to make it more comfortable. Maggie is not that keen on being hot. So you will have plenty of time during the day to explore the area. If you are a baseball fan, there are the Bull Durhams who play about 20 min from us; there are bike trails (American Tobacco trail) in Durham to go on (we have a bike you can use); there is Triangle Sportsplex about a mile away where you can swim, ice skate, exercise. If you are over 55, there is a very active Senior Center with classes, activities, etc. in the day. Places to socialize. Our little town is an old colonial town but also steeped in Civil War history. We could go on and on.. e see for yourselves!
