Barbara and Andrew McGregor are a couple in our early sixties. We both escaped corporate life in the nineties and subsequently ran a successful business consulting practice together, disproving the myth that couples cannot work well together.
We lived and worked in Johannesburg, South Africa's commercial hub, while our children (now in their late twenties) were growing up. We now live outside the city on a large dam at the foot of a majestic mountain range. We love our outdoor lifestyle, with easy access to the buzz of the city.
We love to travel, which to us is not just sightseeing, but immersing ourselves in new cultures, people and food, typically choosing homestays over hotels. Having sold our business, we are able to travel for longer periods. House-sitting gives us the opportunity to "live in", rather than "visit", new places. We are looking for house-sitting opportunities during the southern hemisphere winter (May to August).
We are both healthy and enjoy keeping fit in our home gym. We do not smoke. We are avid readers and seek to learn new things and meet new people. We enjoy cooking, particularly new and exotic dishes.
We enjoy animals, having had a zoo of pets with our children over the years. These included cats, border collies, golden retrievers, chickens, guinea fowl, rabbits, hamsters and even a rat.
We are proud of our well-cared-for home and will look after yours just like we do our own.
