We are Dave and Janet Swift, an active, healthy retired couple living in Northern California who enjoy the adventure of traveling to new places. Being self-reliant, we see this as an ideal time in our lives to utilize our love of home and pets by housesitting as a means to explore new areas. We share a passion for motorcycle touring, having traveled extensively around North America, as well as six tours throughout Europe and the Adriatic.
We are non-smoking home-owners, who appreciate the importance of keeping a home well-maintained and secure. We have owned a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, chickens and goats – and know how important it is for your pets to be loved and well cared for while you are away.
Dave is a do-it-yourself kind of guy, having owned, repaired, and remodeled homes since he was in his early twenties. After careers in law enforcement, advertising and marketing, he turned to his passion for architecture and home construction by getting his building contractors license in California. He is familiar with all types of home repairs and maintenance, including electrical and plumbing.
Janet is an avid gardener, experienced in preparing beds, planting, watering, staking, and deadheading flowers and vegetables. She also loves to spend time in the kitchen cooking and baking, where she keeps things neat and tidy.
With lengthy careers as marketing communications professionals, we understand the importance of timely and frequent communications before and during your time away.
